I went to court today and was denied divorce because I didn't "prove up". I don't have a lawyer, was even told by the judge that I didn't need one for such a simple divorce. All they told me was I needed to come back when I could "prove up". Of course no one there could give me legal advice. I don't feel like I needed advice, I just needed to know what that phrase means. Is it just saying why I don't want to be married anymore?? Should I document the events that lead up to us filing for divorce??
