purchase before divorce final

What is the name of your state? nj

situation:
separated 2 1/2 years.
divorce not final
custody battle not final
moved out of marital residence over 2 yrs ago.
found a condo that looks good and is affordable

if i buy (cash outright) with money i can prove i had before the marriage... can the hopefully-soon-to-be-exhusband lay any claim to this property?

what other 'traps' should i be concerned about?

is there any way i can protect myself and my investment?
