Unhappy

Puzzled on what I should do.

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Texas.

I was married to a man in October of 1980. It lasted a little over 2 months. In January of 1981 we separated and I never heard from him or saw him again. I didn't get a divorce at the time, finances just didn't allow the luxury. During the ensuing 25 years, I never wanted to remarry, but now I am thinking about it. I did a search on divorces and marriages in the state of Texas, and I found no divorce record disolving our marriage. BUT, I did find that in 1987 he remarried. I was not suprised about this because he had married his second wife before he was legally divorced from his first wife. I was his 3rd wife. What should I do now?

Who knows, he may have married another woman since his 1987 marriage. I'm still checking on that. Any advice for me?

Legally divorce him at let the system catch up to him.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.
