I have been separated from my wife for 12 years. She recently filed for divorce. I found out she has accumulated 23,000 of credit card debt since we have been separated. My name is not on the card accounts. Will I be responsible for any of this debt she racked up? I live in Ky. Is Ky a community property state? Thanks

Kentucky is not a community property state, its an equitable division state. Since you and your wife have been separated for 12 years, it clearly would not be equitable to make either of you responsible for the debt accumulated by the other or assets gained by the other during those 12 years. However, if your wife will not concede on that issue, you will have to take it before a judge and let the judge decide.
