Question aboutmy lawyer

What is the name of your state? Indiana

Filed for divorce in March 2003. Last time we went to court was in Dec.2003 at that time it's was all to be left up to the judges decision. Well now it's almost March 2004 and still no decision. But,my question is: My lawyer has decided that she is now going to be the Deputy Proscutor and and informed me that if I need any more legal matters done in this case I'll have to hire another attnorey. Now excuse me but I've already paid her over $1500.00 in lawyer fees and feel that that is really unfair. Is there anything I can do about it cause as I was undating my material on the divorce I noticed that my soon to be ex is behind in the court ordered maintence payments and when I called my lawyer she told me that I would have to hire another lawyer. I thinkit's a crock!!!

**A: there is no law restricting an attorney from changing jobs. Get over it.

So you ask for the portion of your retainer that hasn't been used to be returned to you (assuming your retainer agreement provides for that), and find a new attorney pronto. This sort of thing happens. Lawyers become prosecutors, or judges, or state senators. It happens. Move on.

I agree. This sort of thing happens. Lawyers become prosecutors, or judges, or state senators and/or crooks. Sh*t happens. Move on.
