Question

Re-Appraisal of House

What is the name of your state? Ohio

My divorce was finalized in Jan 2003 (7 yr marriage). June 2003, I was presented (by my ex) with an appraisal of $165K for the house. We divided equity and he paid me the amount. He told me at a later date that the woods (15 acres) was appraised for an additional $75K. He did put the house up for sale for $220K, but it didn't sell. He did survey off property and sold some of the property.

My question is, since I was presented with the appraisal that stated "House & Property" for $165K, but the additional appraisal for the woods was not given to me at the time I signed off on the house, what are the chances that the judge will award me the additional equity?

BTW, the land in question is prime property and is selling for approx $35K per lot.

Thanks for your time.

I just found out that instead of only selling a small qty of the land, he has sold 10 acres. Now, from what I understand it isn't final as of yet (even though the mapping process was done 7/28/03) so it is still in his name.

Since the transfer hasn't been filed with the auditor's office as of yet, I haven' t been able to find out the sale price.

Anyone have any input?
