What is the name of your state?Illinois My brother has been divorced for over a year. His ex-wife agreed in writing to pay for her car and refridgerator. We thought everything was said and done, until he got a call from the bank and said she has never paid a payment, and he would have to or get sued.He also got a phonecall from the county wreckage and said the car was abandoned on the side of the road and they have had it since last august! Now they want to charge him for 'holding fees'since last year. She signed the papers before a judge swearing she would pay for those 2 items. He has taken her to court where she has not appeared. The judge automatically granted my brother to be "repayed for any debts he owed on the car." However she has still refused to pay.Now she has quit her job so she doesn't have to pay for anything. Can she do this, and leave my brother stuck with the bills? sorry so long, any advice would be appreciated.
