going through dissolution in the state of ohio. the parenting agreement between us is very detailed and stipulates complete agreement between both parents when it comes to all decision making relating to minor child. the problem that both of us have is that it seems that the ohio revised code requires that even with our arrangement(both parents consent-50/50)that there still can only be one residential parent assignment for school purposes. it is my understanding that the parent who gets this designation has some edge over the other parent when it comes to where the child lives and what school that child will attend...even though that the agreement states that both parents must consent to the child moving outside of the existing residing county and that the school to attend must be agreed upon by both parents. neither one of us want to give the residential parent assignment to the other. in the state of ohio, using a dissolution with very specific language, can the residential parent for school purposes be shared? or does law specify that only one parent can be assigned to this position?
