separated parentsWhat is the name of your state? tennessee. my son & daughter-in-law have been separated for 4 months, she is now talking about moving to another state permanently, can he stop her from taking his children and moving out of state and does he have to file for a divorce in order to stop her. |

| He should get a lawyer and file for custody (or joint physical custody with him as primary) and either divorce or legal seperation IMMEDIATELY. And a geographic restriction on children's residence.

| thank you nextwife... i'm not sure i understand the joint physical custody with him as primary ? He doesn't intend to try and take the children away from her, but he doesn't want her moving so far away that he won't be able to see them. |
