Separated and wife has the four kids

My wife has left our home with my four kids and its been 30 days since she's been gone. I've been seeing a counselor to help me get through the seaparation. My counselor suggested that I pull the keys to the house and the garage door opener since this is her 3rd time leaving and she emptied the house last time.

My question is, do I have the right to do that? Also, if this leads to divorce what is the percentage of child support for 4 boys in Memphis? My fear is, if I do ask for those things back, she would go and retaliate by putting me on child support even though I all ready take care of my kids.

You can change the locks. If she has already left, has a place to stay and her belongings, then she cannot argue plausibly that you threw her out and left her w/no place to live.

However, judges don't like seeing guys locking out their wives and kids against their will -- leaving them homeless.

On child support, if you get divorced, you're going to be paying support. This is not optional. She doesn't have to go after you for it. The court will require it.

The support amount in Indiana is based on your income added to her income and then a chart is used to determine how much of that total income would be used for the kids.

Then you pay according to your percentage share of the total income.

The process is probably similar in your state, but you should check with an attorney there.
