separation

What is the name of your state? New Jersey

My husband and I are separated as of Jan. 24th--neither one of us have filed yet for a Divorce..we are both still residing in the family home (which I purchased but both names are on the mortgage) My question is this, Am I allowed to have another male companion in the house or is that *Illegal*

Good grief, Hon!

You are STILL married, and you have not yet even been seperated 30 DAYS!

And he still lives there, and you BOTH share responsibility for the mortgage.

You can't wait a bit until this is more resolved?

Don't be a fool. If you accidentally got pregnant now, the child would legally be that of your husband AND you'd need to wait until birth to complete any divorce. Give yourself and the relationship with your STBX some distance before cohabitating with another. IMHO.

Well, it's a GREAT way to ramp up the animosity of your divorce! Do you have kids?

No it's not illegal.

Matter of fact, I have a friend in NJ who was removed from HIS house by court order after the wife moved her b/f in. They all just couldn't get along for some reason.

The husband was very irate about the whole thing, since the house was a gift from HIS family.

If you did, I'd be willing to bet that your husband will waste NO time filing for that divorce.
