What is the name of your state? South Carolina

In SC the law states that unless you can prove addiction or adultery you have to be separated for one year. My husband and I have been living in the same house but in separate rooms for a year (for convenience and financial reasons). I called my attorney about a year ago and told him I wanted a divorce ( I don't know if he documented this request or not). Will this qualify as a year separation or do we have to live in separate homes to qualify? There will be no big fight (we have nothing to fight over), second marriage for both of us, no children, no big assets purchased together... I'd like to file papers myself and just have an attorney look over them for me, is this something that can be done?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kim
