What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Va

My friend went today and filed divorce papers. He soon to be exwife had signed the papers that needed to be notarized. There were two that she was the one who had to file. To expediate things he signed her name. She has thus called him and she doesn't want a DIY divorce and wants us to hire a lawyer. These were already filed. Can we go back to the courts and have them retracted? What kind of trouble can he be in for signing her name?

He'd better drop the case immediately. Basically, he committed a felony. If he drops the divorce now, he may not get caught.

He can then refile and do it properly.

Why would you be a part of hiring an attorney?
