What is the name of your state? Michigan My husband lives down south, and I have been ordered to pay half of his attorney fees. My question is, do I send the money to him directly? Or to his lawyer? I don't want any direct contact with him if at all possible. He doesn't know where I am and I intend to keep it that way. Could I wire the money to a friend and have her write a check to him? And get a signed reciept? That way I will have proof that he took the check and cashed it. I know this may seem like a dumb question, but I still need to know? And besides, I'm not even sure where he lives anymore.

My guess is you should call his attorney and ask. IMHO, I wouldn't send the payments to the ex, how would you know if the attorney was paid? In fact, do you know if the attorney has been paid by the ex and you are to reimburse the ex, or did the ex only pay the attorney 1/2?

Call the attorney.

Do YOU have an attorney? If so - that's who you should call and ask, If not, ask his attorney.
