What is the name of your state? NJ

Sorry if this question sounds stupid. I am living in NJ and my wife lives in Delaware. If the divorce case is filed in Delaware, can I hire a lawyer with NJ license to represent me in Delaware family court? Or is a Delaware license necessary?

You need a law license from the state you are practicing in.

Some states allow an out-of-state lawyer to appear by permission on a case-by-case basis.

Do you really want to pay a New Jersey lawyer to travel to Delaware? Your legal fees will be three or four times what you would pay a Delaware lawyer.
