STD & Adultery

What is the name of your state? GA

Can he be held liable for punitive damages if it is determined that he infected me with an STD?

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

what about the question:

"was he aware of his infection when he had sexual relations with you?"

A divorce court will not hold him liable however a civil court might.
See Catlett v. Catlett, 193 Ga. App. 399, 388 S.E.2d 14 (1989)

Gee... what insight??
What incredible legal advice??
If you have NO legal experience or education, your best answer to EVERY post is "see a local attorney".
A claim of punitive damages in an STD case is NOT valid.... especially since there is NOTHING in this thread to even suggest it was on purpose (required to be punitive).

Psst... according to the case I posted it is possible. NOT guaranteed and not inexpensive. However it COULD happen.

I ran across this GA case

In Long v. Adams, 175 Ga. App. 538, 333 S.E.2d 852 (1985), the Georgia
Court of Appeals held the duty to represent truthfully facts relating to infectious diseases springs from the duty
“every individual in this state owes another” as opposed to any duty premised on intimacy or marriage.
