My wife and i are in california and going through a divorce. Prior to the marriage she accrued $42,000 in student loan debt that we paid over the course of the marriage. This amount was for her master's degree. She received a job based on the master's degree but didn't earn much....$30,000 a year. Here big income increase wouldn't come until she was licensed as a Marraige & Family Counselor which took her 3 years to complete. She got her license 2 months after we separated and now has received the large increase in salary. Is this money reimursable to me?
