I reside in MD. My wife had a fling with an ex-colleague. Can the ex-colleague's wife threaten my wife with a subpoena since she is going for a divorce. She wants my wife to give her a letter to prove her husband (ex-colleague) has and continues to commit adultery. She is even willing to pay for the letter.

Can she really threaten my wife with a subpoena. Appreciate your response.

She doesn't have to threaten. She can just subpoena your adulterous wife to come to court and testify. End of story. No threats involved and she doesnt' have to pay for a letter.
