terrible situation - wife ran away

we are both foreign citizens on non-immigrant visa here. My pregnant wife came to US without telling me to deliver and make the baby a US citizen and then maybe claim my property etc. and apply for green card based on baby's citizenship.

She can press false charges against me of abuse and also get false witnesses. To handle that, should I proactively tell the local police all the facts and seek protection? Or if the police is not interested, is there any other authority I can approach?

Can she file for divorce though we are just temporary workers here and our marriage was in foreign nation too? If she does file, how can I plea for jurisdiction?

Can someone advise as to how much is counselling effective in such cases?
