I have been separated for almost 3 years and recently moved to California from Texas. I now want to file for divorce. I understand that I can still file there because he is a resident. We had agreed on an un-contested divorce, but lately he has become non-responsive and I know his lease is up this month and am afraid he will move w/o providing me with a new address or other contact information.
How long do I have to live in California to file here?
Even if I could, would you recommend it?
If I can't get him to agree to the terms, will I have to appear in court and the judge decides on division of assets, etc.?
