Urgent Help!

What is the name of your state?VA

I have a show cause case coming up this week. In my divorce decree that was stamped Dec. 10, 2003, it states that i am responsible for half of uninsured medical expenses. In june of 2005 my ex sent me a letter along w/ 3 yrs of back bills stating here is the bills, here is your portion, you have 60 days to pay. ?????? Can he do that. And he has NEVER given me any bills or told me of any bills until then. Am i responsible for bills prior to Dec. 10 2003? Isnt he supppose to notify me of such bills in a timely fashion, or can he just hord them and give them to me and say, "here ya go, you owe me in 60 days or else"???? We have a show cause case coming up on friday. I have paid him $73 towards the bills, and doing what i can, for i am responsible for $400 a month child support and just barely making ends meet enough as it is ! PLEASE HELP !!! WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS!!!! I have never had an attorney b/c i cant afford one, and he uses that to his advantage !!! Thanks Michele

Him having an attorney and you being without one puts you at a disadvantage. What you have to do is explain things to the judge the same way that you explained them to us here. Hopefully the judge will not hold you responsible for the entire amount. You however also need to ask the judge to order that he turn the bills over to you in a timely fashion...say within 30 days of receiving the bill.
