validity of marriage? What is the name of your state? I live in Washington state, I got married seven years ago to a man that was using an alias. We both made up information on the application in KIng county. We were hiding from my first husband and the court. I want and need to get a divorce now and can't seem to find someone who can tell me how. The court house would not let me file for divorce because they don't have my real name on file as married. I use my legal and real name now and so does he. I can not afford an attorney, but one that knows our story says he thinks I have to file for validity of marriage and it will be at least 2800.00 Like I said I can not afford this. I have been separated from this man with no regular child support or anything through the courts for 2 and 1/2 years. Please tell me what I can do. I currently have a restraining order against him. But nothing else can get done. thank you for your time, Iam desperate. |

| So your chickens came home to roost -- are you so surprised?? Save up, get your life straightened out. That's all I can recommend.

| You committed fraud? Lovely. YOu need an attorney like Ldij said who can try to straighten this whole mess out. Were you married at the time of THIS marriage -- you said you were hiding from your husband and the court. Why were you hiding from the court? YOu need to do what the attorney said. It will cost money but you are giong to have to suck it up somehow. The one responsible for this mess is you.
