Who pays the bill?

What is the name of your state?
Michigan
I was divorced a couple of years ago. We had purchased a Kirby Vaccuum when we were still married. at the time, the ex did make a few payments - then the divorce... He agreed to take that debt and it is stated in my divorce papers that he is responsible. Apparently he never did pay if off and now the company is trying to garnish my wages for this debt. Even though I had written and sent copies of my divorce papers to the finance companies lawyers. what should I do? p.s. I had to pay my ex. for 1/2 the equity in our house and 1/2 of my 401 k and I got nothing because he had nothing to share with me. Now I am still getting #$#%...

The finance company is not a party to your divorce. Therefore the finance company has ever right to come after you for the debt. Your only recourse would be to sue you ex (probably small claims court).
