I was awarded a $5,500 judgement for property and attorneys fees in August of 2003 that my ex-husband has never paid on. Yesterday I filed a Writ of Garnishment and had it served to his banking institution to do a one time garnishment of his bank accounts. However he is self-employed (a general contractor) and one of the stipulations for the garnishment was that money from personal service would be exempt. What is personal service considered to be and am I in jeopardy of not getting any money from his account if it is from money he collected from his trade?
