Define "spank". What does your custody order state regarding corporal punishment?

In general, if corporal punishment is acceptable in your state (and I believe it is in every state) then it is lawful. One can argue whether or not it is appropriate for another caregiver not the parent to conduct a spanking, but it is probably lawful so long as it does not cross the line to abuse.
