What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Hello Everyone, I have a few questions that has been haunting me every since I got custody sorted out in Court. About a year ago, a local Judge allowed my children to move away from California to North Las Vegas Nevada. Ever since they've left my side, my daughter would come home with bruises and with a lot of hurting stories from the house they currently reside in. When daughter (6years old) comes over, she tells me that her step-father belts her and her baby brother (2yrs old). And that doesn't set well in any fathers head. Iv taken several pictures of bruises, marks, for future reference whenever we go back to Court. My daughters stories really hurt me, and I really want to know what I can do to get both of them out of that environment. The Step-Father has made threats through via text message insinuating that he was going to do something to me at our pick up point outside of Nevada. I just need help on how to further pursue this, and get my children back. Can anyone help me out? I would greatly appreciate any response and will fill in the gaps. Thanks

You're worried about re-taking custody? That will happen if and only if several OTHER steps take place first.

First and foremost, if you are genuinely concerned about abuse and improper disciplinary actions against the kids, CALL CHILDREN'S SERVCES. IMMEDIATELY. If they are able to substantiate the allegations, the case worker would gladly work with you to build a case for returning the children to your custody, at least temporarily.

And if the step-father is threatening violence against you at the pick-up point, bring someone else with you and have the police on speed dial. Or, better yet, if at all possible, try to ask the police for an escort due to the impending threats to your safety.

Your pictures mean nothing. Take the children to the doctor. If the injuries are suspicious of abuse, the doctor is a mandated reporter.
