What is the name of your state? Kentucky. Would like to know if a civil lawsuit is still possible. Abuse/molestation occurred c.1979-82. Grandfather abusing/molesting granddaughter. No criminal charges filed, child did go to counseling and group therapy. Thanks.

Generally with child molestation the statute of limitations kicks in starting when the child becomes a legal adult. So its possible that criminal charges could still be filed.

Here is a link to the Kentucky Statutes. It may take some digging but the info you are looking for will be in there somewhere.

Even if the statute of limitations has run, it may be possible to file a report to CPS if he has access to children at this point in time, at least to prevent anything from happening in the future.
