Depending on the specific circumstances, it appears that the SOL cold be 3 or 7 years.

What happened?

Keep in mind that the longer the time between the act and the report, the less likely it will be that there will be a prosecution. As time goes on, memories fade, urgency fades, and evidence disappears. If you wait a while the police and the prosecutor may decide that the complaint is retaliatory and thus suspect, thereby casting some doubt on the incident.

Abuse can take many forms. The statute of limitations depends on the type of domestic abuse.

Domestic abuse where there was personal injury, for example, can have a statute of limitations of 2 years or, if there was sexual abuse and DNA was involved, the statute of limitations can be up to 7 years from the time a suspected or unknown abuser is identified.
