He pled guilty.

OP, if he recants now, he will be in legal trouble. If you recant, you will be in legal trouble. There's no way out of this without you both getting into legal trouble. Either way (i.e., recant or no recant), he will never get to be a cop or a firefighter.

So, for him to now seek a reversal of the finding he will have to admit he lied when you originally entered his plea (and even more problematic if he had to allocute before the court). Obviously you would have to perjure yourself as well.

Just not going to happen.
