DV Restraining Orders

Washington State

I currently have a Domestic Violence restraining order on an individual. This person will not stop using my image in photos that she has from the past on her MySpace page and sending them out to family and friends. She puts quotes under the pictures that are not comfortable for me or my family to see. I have asked her on several occasions to take the photos of me down and have said that I do not give her permission to use those photos. Do I have any recourse for this? Has the law caught up with internet usage when it comes to DV cases? I just want the photos and words gone.

Whose family and friends is she sending the pics to?

If it's YOUR family and friends, file in court for contempt of the restraining order.

However, if it's HER family and friends there's not much you can do unless you can prove in court that she is doing so only to circumvent the order to irritate you.

As for her posting pics on HER MySpace page, and you and your family are not comfortable seeing them, the solution is very simple- don't go to her MySpace page.
