What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Can I place a restraining order against someone who has placed one against me? I received a temporary order and has to respond.

What is the reason for filing a restraining order against that person except to get even with them for filing one against you?

You can certainly complete an affidavit, complete the paperwork for an application for a TRO and submit it to the court, but it will be a matter separate from the response you are required to submit for your hearing on the order against you.

Do you have grounds to fear for your safety or the safety of your property from this person? If not, then you have no grounds to seek the order.

Grounds for a restraining order

What must be determined in order for the judge to issue a permanent restraining order?

In my case the plaintiff stated that I did not threaten them, or attempt to harm them. This was stated on their order.

In fact, they asked me to have breakfast with them; which I declined. The same day the order was filed.

Yet they are requesting an order be placed.
