Getting Protective order Dismissed

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana. My husband was arrested on March 8, 2010, for domestic violence. The incident was very minor and did not warrant police involvement, neverthess, I called the police. I just wanted to make a report and did not realize charges would be filed. There is now, a court ordered protective order in place. I am in a wheelchair and my husband is my sole caregiver, we have been married for 17 years and no one else is able or willing to take care of me. I require 24 hour a day, round the clock care. My question is, how do I get this protective order dismissed or modified? I cannot afford an attorney. I need my husband home as soon as possible.
