What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois - how can I stop an order of protection from happening? I've changed my mind. If I don't appear in court will it just be dropped?

But you will be exposing yourself to being arrested and charged with a class 3 felony by having falsely reported the commission of a criminal act - here reporting an incident of domestic violence! (720 ILCS 5/26-1(a)(4)(b)
