Injuction/fight over personal property

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi I have been involved in a violent relationship for over 2 years, I was just awarded a protection order untill the judge resolves (permanent). When we first got together I lived in a different city and moved to where he lived, We discussed it would be cheaper and easier for me to sell my furnature and to share his, So thats what we did and the money went towards our new home we built together. After 2 years we have new things and the exisiting items, and now that we are no longer together, is he entitled to the items or is joint? How do I go about looking at previous cases like this or getting advice. I am a single mom with very little income and can't afford an attorney.
