california: my son and an ex-girlfriend have mutual restraining orders, there was no violance on my sons part. he is seeking a career in law enforcement and needs to modify the restraining order in order to carry a firearm on the job. can this be done?

He would need to petition for this. Since the restraining order is against him (for this purpose), he needs to file a motion to amend/dismiss.
