What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Mom: AK

My past posts have been on the child custody board.

Mom has a problem with Dad's Christmas Visitation plans. Originally it was that she didn't want to pay for half the ticket and escort one way, which she'd agreed to in court (the issue was brought before the judge again and was pending until Thursday). Once Dad informed Mom that he was returning to Alaska to live she retaliated by sending him an email saying that she was no longer going to allow him phone/webcam contact with their son and wasn't going to allow Christmas Visitation until after the Judge ruled on the new custody case. Dad's lawyer contacted her lawyer and informed him of the situation, and he convinced Mom to allow Dad to call Son again.

On Thursday the judge ordered that they split transportation and travel costs. On Friday Mom filed for a Domestic Violence with Children Protective order, both ExParte and Long Term. Online it says "Denied" and "Case Closed".

In the state of Alaska if there is a history of domestic violence then that parent is not allowed custody of their child, and often is ordered only supervised visitation. It appears that Mom's motive in filing for the protective order is to avoid both Christmas Visitation and a probable modification of custody when Dad returns.

Will Dad receive a copy of the filing? If not, can he request those court records? (Totally ignorant of domestic violence issues here).

Looking online, it says even if the ExParte case is denied, there will still be an investigation into the Long Term protective order, however, in Dad's case it says that it's already closed.

How is it possible to get a protective order against someone in another state? Dad has no phone contact with Mom, but does record all phone calls to her home when he talks with Son. All communication with Mom is done through email.

Thanks!
