Order of Protection ViolationWhat is the penalty for violating a family court temporary order of protection in the state of New York. I am being charged with criminal contempt of court which is a class e felony. When the petitioner received the temporary order in the first place there was no violence alleged and when I violated the order there was no violence either, and the petitioner and I were hanging out on good terms tryign to work things out. Also, even thoguh I realize it does not matter, the petitioner reached out to me before we hung out and it was a relative of hers who called the police and not her? Does this help me out at all that she didnt want to call the police to report me? Also what are my options now/ |

| Ask your attorney these questions (if you don't have one, get one!)
