11378 HS - california - first time drug offense

was arrested by LA sherrifs dept., for HS11378, possession with intent to sell of dangerous drugs.. felony

2.5 ounces of muchrooms.

this was last wednesday. i was ROR'ed (relase on own recognizance)

narcs said if i turn in 3 people they could make it go away, but they gave me only 1 day to decide, and i didnt call back.. ima see my lawyer on wednesday i hope..

im 18 (about to turn 19), a decent enough college student (B or better grade average) and it was my first offense..

i have my first court appearance in about 2 months in court in beverly hills.


ive read the law and as far as i know, the penalty is either: 16 months, 2 years, or 3 years in state prison


im very nervous and scared about what is going to happen to me.. is there any way to avoid prison time, and is it likely?

it wasnt a large amount, im young, a college student,a nd it was my first offense..

If they drop it to possession, you might be able to plead to diversion, drug court, or maybe Prop. 36 counseling (off hand I do not know if "mushrooms" are eligible for Prop. 36).

i dont know if they will drop it to possession.. but if not, im hoping i can at least get a plea bargain or osmething.. this happened last wednesday, i will be talkin to my lawyer this wednesday i hope
