What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin

I recently got charged for what I believe is 2 counts of drug paraphernalia. Both me and my girlfriend.

I was in my house when the cops knocked on my door and after asking to search, I said no, however my girlfriend was in the shower.

I asked to get her and they said no, so I said one of them could escort me inside to get her, not to search, but to escort.

All 3 officers came in, not just one. They saw a pipe which was on my couch sort of in the open. They all 3 immediately came to arrest me, never read me any right, I had no idea what was going on. They just said I was under arrest.

So they all three were jumping on me trying to arrest me, but I have a bad left arm from lifting, as I enjoy the sport of bodybuilding as a hobby of mine. My left arm wouldnt go back, and they freaked out saying I was resisting and threatened to taze me right away (Mind you, I am 6 foot 5 with a larger build), They were telling me I never said any of that, and they have everything on recording and such.

I got taken to the station, and while I was in the cell, I was given my rights. For some reason it seems odd for me that they are able to do all of this.

They also states in the papers they sent me a few wrong details. Saying I let 2 people into my house, saying that I quoted "I smoke marijuana from time to time" as they were speaking to me in the beginning when I opened the door from them, which I did not.

They also had told me they were unsure who was smoking as someone had called and said it was in my building. They had a dog sniffing at my door so they got me. In the papers however they said they got a call to come to my apartment unit.

Some things dont really add up to me. I could be wrong. I am not one to claim to be a legal expert, which is why I am here.

It says I must show up in circuit court in july. Should I get an attorney? I cannot afford one so Id need to seek a free one.

I appreciate any and all help here!

you and your GF are going to need a lawyer, if you cant afford one, you should tell your judge that, and he will, if it is true that you cant afford one, direct a legal aid/ public defender to represent you.

Next time if the police are at your door and you have illegal contraband all over the place don't answer it. They will either go away (most of the time) or kick the door in (rarely). You're under no obligation to answer your door to them. If they have a right to let them knock it down.
