Crossing into the states with marijuana need help asap

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
WA

Me and my friend were crossing into the states and I had marijuana on me at the time, I claimed it was mine and was arrested.

The officer I spoke to said unless I have had previous charges I face no jail time, same with one of the people at the border. but when I got home I did some research and found that there is an MMS for 1 day and 250 dollars.

I am not sure what to do seeing as I'm quite young (19) and have no experience with this

You are going to end up paying one way or another. Pot running is an expensive sport.

as I said before I had 1.6 grams of marijuana on me, I didn't plan on selling it at all in any way, this was a one time mistake

that one time mistake, has a price. you got ticketed. you will pay a fine, or face harsher penalties.

when you don't pay the law required fines, show up for court, all that jazz, you get harsher fines tacked onto what was already charged. the fine gets larger, a warrant for your arrest gets issued, and jail time is now a fact.

pay the fine, you may be able to deal something for the jail time, such as probation, community service, check with the DA, see what they have to offer.

because i'm comfortable speaking for myself, i'd do this without an attorney.

I will definitely show up and do what I need to, I'm not trying to avoid the consequences to follow, only make them less.
