What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Massachusetts

A friend of mine was arrested 3 days ago at UMass Amherst, and no one has heard from him since..here is the situation:
He was tripping on mushrooms (Psilocybin?) and started to get very paranoid, yelling at people and threatening them until someone called the police. He then locked himself in a bathroom and the police had to break down the door. He then shoved a police officer before they cuffed him and put him on a stretcher to be taken to the hospital. The police thought he was on acid, so they searched his dorm room and found marijuana and a bong. Marijuana was decriminalized in MA, but it is unknown whether or not he had over the legal amount of 1 ounce. He has no priors on his record, and is a 4.0 student...can anyone please tell me what kind of consequences he's looking at??

Marijuana was decriminalized in MA,
No it wasn't. You won't get ARRESTED for having under an ounce, you will be ticketed. It is STILL ILLEGAL! Geesh!

Your friend is most likely in jail and hasn't been bailed yet. OR he may be in hospital having an evaluation.

He probably won't be back at school.
