April, the best advice anyone here can give you, is stop posting anywhere online. Do not discuss this with anyone except your lawyer. Do not make any more/any statements to the police. Plead not guilty in court and request a public defender. If you can sell your car in between to get a lawyer on your own, now is the time to seriously consider it. I would edit your post regarding the details to remove the situational aspects.
