I need help bad please!!!

OK! A friend and I were arrested april 14th of this year. Ok, im gonna make it quick..State:Louisiana. Parish:Vernon. We were pulled over for a seatbelt violation. It was my car, and my friend was in the passenger seat, with a half pound under the passenger seat. I had a sks on the backseat, and a 357 on the front between us. We were pulled over as soon as we entered his driveway. He came up to the car, seen the guns, asked if they were loaded, and i told them yah, then had me step outside, hands on hood. He pulled my friend out, called backup. We were patted down and placed in cuffs. Then we were put to stand on the side of the cruiser. He came and asked me if he could search, i told him no cuz this was bull**** gettin searched for a seatbelt violation. Well, cops bein cops, searched while they were askin me......They found the weed....Asked us whos it was, and well, we both played stupid. So we were both takin in, and questioned seperately. Good cop, bad cop, u no the deal..They asked me whos guns it was, i told them it was mine, they asked whos weed it was, i said i dunno...Well my friend finally took the rap, even signed a statement sayin it was his, and that i had no knowledge. well the cop came back in, told my arresting officer that my friend had took the charge and that they could either let me go or book me.....they booked me.....now were both being charged with the same thing....I just got outta my public defenders office, and hes saying im most definitely serving time. Ive never had any trouble with the law except a dtp by fighting. I have a very good job, which ive been working a lil over a year and ten months. I just enrolled into rehab, hoping this will help sentencing....What does the outcome look like for me? Jail time? Or some drug court and probation......

Okay, let's see if I understand you correctly.

You have an attorney (PD) who obviously knows ALL the facts of your case, not just your 'spin' here. And that attorney, who KNOWS all the FACTS.... told you that you're "most definitely serving time"....
Yet, you somehow expect US to know MORE than your attorney??

There are to many unknowns. What is "dtp by fighting" Where you charged with a felon in poss. of a handgun? Does the amount of marijuana classify this charge as violent? I think rehab is a good idea, but i'm not sure how much legal assistance that will be. You got charged with the gun, and in tha statement your friend says the drugs are his. You do not even have drug charges on your record. The d.a. may see the rehab admissionas a way to reduce/avoid jail and nothing else. According to your vesion of events, sounds like nothing improper with thye police action. Sounds like a guilty plea is in your future. Can you somehow retain a private attorney? Whoever your attorney is, i suggest you ask if he knows of anything you can do to help your situation. I suspect an unpleasant road in your future. I'm just going to say, if you make some positive changes you won't have to deal with this again. goodluck.

Yes, i was charged with felony possesion of a firearm. I dont know how much marijuana is needed to make it a violent charge...But i was charged with possesion with intent to distribute. I didnt just get charged with the gun, i was charged with the marijuana also. BECAUSE, if they had no charge on the marijuana for me, then the firearm charges would have to be dropped, so thats why im being charged with the weed also.
And yes, im only going to rehab to help at sentencing...Would this help? Or with me not having any prior drug charges make it stupid?

Positive changes?????That wont happen....Not in the cell thats for sure.
