Question

In Nj, Is A 4th Degree Crime A Felony?

What is the name of your state? NJ

Hello ,

Back in 2001, I was charged, and subsequently pleaded, to accepting the charges of Conspiracy to Posses marijuana over 50 grams (2c:5-2/2c:35-10a(3)

My question is whether or not this would be a felony. From my research (as i was negligent to due at the time the charges came up, and therfore, accepted this deal without relazing the totality of the charges themselves), I believe this falls under a 4th degree "crime" (or felony in other words, as I reside in NJ). Does this 4th degree crime hold the same weight as a felony?

PLEASE help me out, as I recently appiled to my local post office, and to my understanding they do not hire convicted felons.

IS MY 4TH DEGREE CRIME A FELONY IN NJ?

Thanks a million!!!

Yes. NJ doesn't use the term felony in their statutes, but all the "crimes" (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) are considered to be the same as felonies.
