What is the name of your state? Illinois,Dupage County

2 year probation. Felony conviction(diazapam less than 30 mg) that will be "reversed" I guess in Dec. 2008. I call it the Paris Hilton sentence. Had 30 hours community service down to 10. Have had 2 travel passes for vacation in US. Need a out of country travel pass for 10 days to escort a elderly family member back to US. ( they just recvd. citizenship). Have no prior record for ANYTHING.I have paid my restituion 2 months in advance as well.

How likely will I get pass?

The probation office can offer or withhold your travel permission at their discretion.

Have you discussed this with your PO?

What was their reaction?

out of state travel pass

po has been good about in US passes because I have two small children (3 yr old twins). And I take them on vacation. I have even been allowed to mail in a monthly report because I did an extra service (employment class). I asked when sentenced if I could travel out of country, the judge said case by case basis. I guess Ill try. Should provide documentation of the person needing escort to US? Will it have to go before judge or can PO decide if under 30 days?

Providing documentation of family relationship and medical need can't hurt.

If you are claiming some family need it would be wise to keep the itinerary as short and no-frills as possible .

You will need to ask.

Waiting until the last minute will not help.

You should have a lawyer if court is involved, it wouldn't hurt to see one anyway.
