~PLEASE HELP~ Unlawful possession of marijuana, and an underage drinking charge

I live in New York
I am 17
I've never been arrested before. I had under a gram of marijuana on me and I was drinking and I have a few questions...
1) What penalties should I expect in court?
2) Was I arrested? (I was cuffed and put in the holding cell until a parent picked me up) because I know possession was decriminalized in new york
3) Is this a violation or a crime?

Sounds like you were arrested. Did you have identification on you? How old are you?

Not ALL possession is decriminalized, by the way. And just because it is decriminalized does NOT mean it's legal - it just means it's not a crime.

What were you actually charged with? Were you given tickets?

UPM is a Penal Law violation. The underage drinking depends on what law you were cited for violating, but it should also be a violation.
