Police write wrong drug down on report.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

Anyone know what happens if you are arrested with oxycontin but the police list it as oxycodone?

If the police wrote the wrong drug down on the arrest report, what happens when it goes to court?

Thanks

Oxycodone is the generic of OxyContin

No Zigner, Oxycodone is percocet, a little weaker than Oxycontin. Opiate pain pills go like this in order of weakest to strongest:

1) hydrocodone (vicodin)
2) oxycodone hydrochloride (percocet)
3) oxycontin

OP, you were caught in possession of pain killers that weren't prescribed to you, it won't matter what he called it, they can prove it. They probably have the pills as evidence. He charged you correctly and accordingly.

You can't go in there and say, it wasn't percocet, it was oxycontin, either way, you were not suppose to have it. It's illegal.

Actually, I just wanted to check my information to make sure and let me correct something... technically the officer was not wrong.

1) hydrocodone and acetaminophen (vicodin)
2) oxycodone and acetaminophen (percocet)
3) oxycodone hydrochloride (oxycontin)

All percocet is is oxycontin mixed with acetaminophen, either way, it is oxycodone. So the officer's report did not, in fact, contain any errors OP. Sorry. Face up to it.

OxyContin is a sustained release product that contains oxycodone, a morphine-like opioid analgesic.

You are facing some very serious charges and the possibility of jail time when you go to court.
