I live in New york but my question pertains to the state of Illinois. My brother was in a hotel room at a party when the police arrived on a raid with the K9 unit. the police found over one hundred extasy pills and arrested sixteen people and charged them all with intent to sell. so my question is is he looking at any jail time or will the charges most likely get pleaded down? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Even though they can all technically be charged I have a feeling the goal of the investigation is to figure out whos dope it was and who else may have been directly involved in the selling of it. I have seen this happen several times in my life. Everyone goes to jail but only a few get filed on.

A lawyer in that county can tell you about what might happen after being convicted. Over a hundred X pills is serious though so at a few of those 16 people probably won't be getting sweet plea bargain deals.
