What is the name of your state: TEXAS

I received a possession of paraphernalia charge. The information I have looked up tends to say that deferred adjudication is usually available for a charge such as this. How do I go about obtaining this? Do I apply for it, talk to the judge, the prosecuting attorney, or enter a plea of no contest?
