What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

My husband got into trouble last year and was arrested for drug possession. He was able to complete his sentencing in a drug program and completed last April 2009. He got arrested again 8/14 for auto theft, evading officer and drug possession. Now he is in custody. They dropped his "no bail" status for his probation violation but yesterday they decided to open his prior case for probation of violation. So now he has two cases pending. His new charges and his Provation of Violation charge. How do you think they will handle his case? We have hired a criminal defense lawyer for him. THANK YOU, i'm so lost!

When probation is violated, the previous offense comes back to life. This is why he faces two charges. Sometimes a deal can be worked out, other times not.

He needs to speak with his attorney. When that happens, you might get a better picture of where things might stand.

In short, hubby is facing some serious felonies and could well do some prison time for this. You may be living single for a while.
